Fredrix Watercolour Canvas is a revolutionary new watercolour surface made of 100% cotton. The unique texture of an all natural woven material, in combination with a proprietary patented, specially formulated acid-free coating, delivers a unique new watercolour painting experience and distinctive look that can only be captured on real canvas.
Fredrix Watercolour Canvas is a durable woven material which is acid free and archival.
Watercolour papers have a tendency to buckle when wet and require special care such as stapling or taping to a firm surface. Fredrix Watercolour Canvas sold in rolls or pads will require the same care, but the Archival Boards and Stretched Canvas are designed not to buckle.
Watercolour washes can be “lifted” easier than on watercolour paper. Unlike paper, Watercolour canvas is more durable. You can be quite aggressive with your adjustments and corrections. In fact, you can even wash out your entire image and start over! Watercolour Canvas will not tear like watercolour paper can, so you can scratch it, scrape it, staple it, wet it and re-wet it and it will not damage your canvas.
